WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE OF THE MADISON CHAPTER OF HLAA
The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is dedicated to the education and support of all hearing-impaired people. Besides basic support and friendship, it also offers education and advocacy services to meet our needs
Hearing loss is an issue of national concern. With 26 million Americans with hearing loss, it is one of the most common disabilities. Hearing loss is also an intensely personal experience though it effects not only the individual with the hearing loss but also his or her family, friends, and coworkers.
By attending our meetings, you will have an opportunity to meet others with a hearing loss, learn that you are not alone, learn of strategies and resources for coping, and help others who will follow you as you grow.
We encourage you to explore this website for what it has to offer. Please feel free to make suggestions for items that should be included. Please also feel free to join us, serve on the board, volunteer to help at meetings, or just simply attend the meetings.
The Madison Hearing Loss Association is a chapter of the national Hearing Loss Association of America. Founded in 2010 by a group of interested hearing impaired individuals, it has steadily grown to become a viable, working organization. HLAA promotes self-advocacy for its constituents to ensure equal opportunity in the areas of telecommunications, employment, health care, education, and community life.
HLAA Madison is a Chapter 501(c)3 corporation. All donations are tax deductible.
