Support for People With Hearing Loss
Welcome to the Madison Chapter of HLAA.
Madison HLAA was founded in 2010 by a small group of interested individuals with hearing loss. Since then, it has steadily grown to become a viable, working organization. Organized as a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization, all donations are tax deductible. We hold monthly meetings at Ultratec as well as various social events throughout the year.
The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is dedicated to the education and support of all hearing-impaired people. Besides basic support and friendship, it also offers education and advocacy services to meet our needs.
Hearing loss is an issue of national concern. It is one of (if not the) most common disabilities. It is also an intensely personal experience though it effects not only the individual with the hearing loss but his or her family, friends, and coworkers.
By attending our meetings, you will have an opportunity to meet others with a hearing loss, learn that you are not alone, learn of strategies and resources for coping, and help others who will follow you as you grow.
We encourage you to explore this website for what it has to offer. Please feel free to make suggestions for items that should be included. Please also feel free to join us, serve on the board, volunteer to help at meetings, or just simply attend the meetings.
